Some reasons why we believe the Bible is God's word:
1. The Bible actually claims to be God's word; not many other books do that.
- The phrase "thus saith the Lord" occurs 415 times in the King James version of the Bible.
- 2 Timothy 3:16 qualifies all scripture: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

2. The Bible has absolutely no contradictions within itself - which is very uncharacteristic of fallible mankind. The Bible was penned by more than 40 men from over 19 different walks of life and over the span of 1600 years - with seamless unity from Genesis to Revelation. Most of the men weren't even alive at the same time as one another, let alone know each other. Take 40 authors that are alive today, have them write what they think God's written revelation to mankind should say, and see if there's unity in what they've written.

3. 100's of prophecies in the Bible have been precisely fulfilled; none have ever been wrong in any detail.

4. The Bible's wisdom preceded mankind's wisdom. For example: the Bible described the hydrologic cycle 100's of years before mankind had any idea what it was. Also, many of mankind's proverbial pearls of wisdom come right from the Bible, such as:
A. "work smarter - not harder"
B. "he who doesn't work doesn't eat"
C. "what comes around goes around"
D. "waste not want not" etc...
